Scholarshot was born from a place few understand — the pressure of having talent but no clear path, the weight of dreams without resources, and the burning desire to rise, not just for yourself, but for your family.
Our founder, Coach David Sandi, lived this. Coming from limited means in Costa Rica, he used tennis to open a door to the U.S. educational system. But while chasing his own goals, he saw others left behind — athletes with potential, but no guidance, no plan, no opportunity. That’s when everything changed.
The Origin of Scholarshot
It started in college. While studying and playing at a high level, David voluntarily began helping athletes — building their profiles, connecting them with coaches, reviewing videos, and guiding them into universities in the U.S., including his own team. He never charged a cent. It wasn’t a business then — it was a calling.
Year after year, athlete after athlete, the mission grew. And when David realized that his informal help had already changed dozens of lives — he knew it was time to build something greater. That’s how Scholarshot was born: a platform built with heart, sharpened by experience, and fueled by faith.
